Japanese scrap surges

Japanese scrap export prices have jumped in East Asia, Kallanish notes. Importers have been resisting paying more after suppliers raised offer prices at the start of this month. South Korea’s Hyundai Steel raised its bid prices for Japanese scrap in its latest auction on 18 January.
