Japanese steel output slips further in September
In September this year, Japan’s steel output slipped further on both month-on-month and year-on-year bases. Pig iron production achieved growth compared with a year earlier, Kallanish learns from data given by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
September pig iron output declined 5.5% m-o-m but rose 0.5% y-o-y to 5.08 million tonnes, taking year-to-date output to 47.54mt, a 2.5% decrease from a year earlier.
