JFE Steel starts No.6 blast furnace renovation
Japan’s JFE Steel has started renovation work on its No.6 blast furnace at the East Japan Works Chiba steel plant, after more than twenty years since its last renovation in 1998, Kallanish learns.
The BF with an inner volume of 5,153 cubic metres was blown out on 23 September. JFE Steel plans to invest JPY 43 billion ($298 million) in the overhaul, which is planned to end in early January 2023.
