JSPL commissions 6mt hot strip mill at Angul
Indian steelmaking giant Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has commissioned the 6 million tonne/year hot strip mill (HSM) at its Angul plant, located in Odisha. The mill was commissioned in a world-record time of 29 months from its groundbreaking on 7 August 2021, the firm says.
According to a bourse filing seen by Kallanish, the mill produced its first coils on 10 January and its first dispatch occurred on 15 January. 19 January marked its first dispatch by rail.
