JWD mine achieves record monthly export volumes
Production has continued apace at Australian miner CuFe’s JWD iron ore mine in Western Australia. Exports for May totalled 83,147 wet metric tonnes (wmt), the largest monthly volume since the project commenced operations, Kallanish notes.
The exports comprised 71,367 wmt of lump and 11,780 wmt of fines.
Meanwhile, the quality of JWD lump is continuing to improve at depth, with recent shipments sold at a headline grade in excess of 63.5% Fe.
