Kazakhstan reduces steel output in January

Kazakhstan’s steelmakers decreased crude steel production in January compared to the previous month, according to data from the national economy ministry’s statistical committee. Output amounted to 292,870 tonnes, down 18.7% on-month and 8.9% less on-year, Kallanish notes. Flat steel output in January was almost flat on-month but 17.6% less on-year at 189,104t.
