Kobe Steel lowers forecasts on income drop

Despite stable production, sales volume and higher steel sales prices, Japan’s Kobe Steel saw negligible profit in its second fiscal quarter through September. Fiscal-year-through-March-2023 (FY22) forecasts have been adjusted lower, Kallanish notes. In the six months through September, Kobe Steel produced 3.15 million tonnes of crude steel and sold 2.5mt, down 0.6% and 0.7% on-year respectively.
