Korean steel imports jump 6.7% in March
South Korea imported some 2.03 million tonnes of steel in March, up 6.7% from a year earlier, according to the Korea Iron and Steel Association (Kosa). A spike in restocking of Chinese rebar was the key driver for the trend-defying increase, Kallanish notes.
