Korean steel imports stay weak despite seasonal uptick
South Korea imported 1.98 million tonnes of steel in October, 11.86% more than in September but still -1.4% down year-on-year, according to the Korea Iron and Steel Association (Kosa). Weak domestic demand this year has hampered imports despite the ever more competitive prices of its neighbours China and Japan, Kallanish notes.
