Krakatau NSSMC autosheet venture to start in H2
Krakatau Nippon Steel Sumikin (KNSS), a 480,000 tonne/year autosheet galvanising, annealing and processing line, could commission at the end of the second quarter at the earliest, according to 20% owner Krakatau Steel. The line will initially source substrate from 80% owner Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) but is under pressure to source more steel from Krakatau, Kallanish notes.
