Kungang plans to upgrade converters
Kunming Iron & Steel (Kungang), managed by Baowu Group, plans to upgrade converters, according to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Yunnan Province.
Kungang will build two 150-tonne converters with 3.2 million tonnes/year steelmaking capacity in place of four old ones with total 4.17m t/y capacity previously operated by Kungang. As the replacement ratio is 1.25:1, 4m t/y of steelmaking quotas are to be consumed for this upgrade project. …
