Kungang starts blast furnace construction
Kunming Iron & Steel (Kungang) has started construction of one 2,500 cubic-metre blast furnace, as part of its relocation project, Kallanish notes.
The furnace has a designed iron capacity of 2.13 million tonnes/year. In order to gain enough capacity quota for the replacement, Kungang will eliminate one 2,000-cubic metre blast furnace at its Anning base and one 1,080 cum blast furnace in Honghe.
