Kyoei to take control of Vietnam-Italy Steel
Japan’s Kyoei Steel intends to take a 65% stake in Vietnam-Italy Steel (VIS), according to local media reports. VIS has already been consulting with shareholders about how to restructure to allow a greater foreign shareholding, Kallanish notes.
The reports suggest that Kyoei subsidiary Kyoei Steel Vietnam will begin buying 33.2 million shares, a 45% stake, from 10 May. It bought 20% of the company in November. That left the previous controlling shareholder…
