LatAm's August crude steel production remains stable: Alacero
Latin American crude steel production was almost flat month-on-month in August, Kallanish learns from regional steelmakers’ association Alacero. Output, however, was weaker compared to a year earlier.
Regional crude steel production reached 5.19 million tonnes, down just 800 tonnes over July but 7.4% less on-year. Of this volume, 2.64mt were produced through the electric arc furnace route and 2.55mt by blast-basic oxygen furnaces.
