LatAm May crude steel production rises on-month

South American and Mexico’s crude steel production rose month-on-month in May, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Output, however, remained weaker on-year. South American crude steel output totalled 3.57 million tonnes in May, up 74,000t m-o-m. It was however down 5.2% compared to 3.77mt in the same period in 2022.
