Lower coal prices drag Yancoal Australia 1H earnings
Australia-listed coal miner Yancoal Australia has reported lower earnings in the first half, in line with revenue that was dragged down by falling coal prices, Kallanish notes.
The group's profit after tax for the first half plunged 44.02% to AUD 973 million ($620.27m) from AUD 1.74 billion a year ago. The group's revenue for the period also fell 16.75% to AUD 3.98 billion from $4.78 billion.
