Magang BF fire curbs market supply
Eastern China’s Ma’anshan Iron & Steel has been forced to bank its No.1 4,000 cubic metre blast furnace after a fire broke out in the central control room before dawn on 11 July. The shutdown will mean a loss of around 10,000 tonnes/day of hot metal production, Kallanish notes.
