Malaysia's Eastern Steel operates slab caster
Malaysia's Eastern Steel commissioned its No. 2 slab caster on 15 October at its steel plant in Kemaman, Terengganu.
The capacity of this slab caster will reach 1.6 million tonnes/year, Kallanish notes. Adding to the previous 1.1m t/y of slab casting capacity in the first phase, the steelmaker will reach 2.7m t/y of capacity in total.
