Mechel eyes coal production increase with new longwall
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel has commissioned the second section of the longwall at the Sibirginskaya mine, part of its Southern Kuzbass coking coal subsidiary, the company says.
Commercial coal reserves in the new longwall 3-1-11 are estimated at 1.5 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. Investments amounted to about RUB 300 million ($4m).
