Mechel eyes coal sales, export increase
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel commissioned a new longwall at the mine named after V.I. Lenin of the Southern Kuzbass coking coal company, the company says.
Commercial coal reserves in the new longwall 0-16-10 are estimated at 435,000 tonnes, Kallanish notes. Investments amounted to about RUB 470 million ($6m).
The lava is equipped with 134 sections of powered support, a shearer, as well as a crushing plant, a reloader and a face conveyor.
