Mechel increases rail shipments, expands production
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel’s Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK) increased sales of rail products in 2020, the company says.
Shipments amounted to 300,000 tonnes, up by 8% on-year, Kallanish notes. About 234,000t were shipped to Russian Railways. The remaining 70,000t were sent to other Russian customers and for export.
