Mechel turns around first-quarter sales dip in April
Mechel says it has overcome constraints in first-quarter performance caused by cash flow shortages after low mining and steel prices in April-May 2020.
Thanks to the upswing in demand and prices in Q1, the company was provided ample funding for its repair and stripping programmes. This led to April sales amounting to almost half of total Q1 selling volumes, chief executive Oleg Korzhov says in a note seen by Kallanish.
