Mechel supplies rail to Moscow Metro
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel has supplied about 22,000 tonnes of rails and other metal products for the construction of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro, Kallanish notes.
Most of the products, like rails, rebar, sheet and beams, are produced at Mechel’s Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant. More than 7,000t of rails were used to lay 28km of track between the new BCL stations.
