Mechel’s 2020 iron ore output increases despite Covid-19
Russian miner and steelmaker Mechel’s Korshunovsky mine increased iron ore production 7% on-year in 2020 to 7 million tonnes, the company says.
Both of the company’s deposits showed positive production dynamics – the Korshunovsky quarry increased by 4% and the Rudnogorsky mine by 10%.
Mechel’s KGOK plant concentrates the iron ore and ships it to consumers, mainly Mechel’s Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, Kallanish notes.
