MENA HRC prices soften, China returns
A major Chinese hot rolled coil initial offer has been heard in Saudi Arabia for the first time in a while, while Egyptian-origin offers are few and far between.
The China-origin quote is for 1.2mm+ SAE 1006 grade HRC at $1,030/tonne cfr Dammam for 5,000 tonnes delivered in January. The price is however found relatively high. Egyptian HRC offers have meanwhile disappeared or lead times given are long, Kallanish notes.
