MENA rebar market activity improves
United Arab Emirates’ market 8-40mm rebar transactions have inched down slightly this week to around AED 2,440-2,610/tonne ($664-710/t) delivered, Kallanish notes.
After Emirates Steel announced September-delivery prices of AED 2,610/t last week, other mills followed with a reduction. The latest announcements came from Oman-based Jindal Shadeed and UAE-based Hamriyah Steel, pegging product at AED 2,440-2,460/t delivered within UAE.
