Meranti, Anglo tie up for iron ore supply
Meranti Green Steel has announced an agreement with Anglo American for the supply of iron ore pellets and lumps. The memorandum of understanding marks a strategic cooperation as Meranti seeks to develop a DRI-EAF green steelworks in Thailand, Kallanish learns.
The agreement would see Anglo American supply feedstock to the planned DRI plant, which will be hydrogen-ready. This will feed an EAF powered by renewable energy developed with a local partner.
