Mexico’s Ahmsa resumes EAF operations
Altos Hornos de México (Ahmsa) says it has resumed electric arc furnace operations at its Siderúrgica 2 steelworks. The melt shop was halted due to a failure in the electrical substation on 17 July, Kallanish notes.
The replacement of damaged equipment at the site began immediately but was affected by the lack of spare parts on the market, delaying the restart of operations, Ahmsa explains.
