Mill shipments rise 18% in March
US mills increased shipments by 18% on-month in March, reports the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US mill shipped a total of 7.95 million short tons during the month, up 18% on-month and 1.9% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Hot-rolled sheet shipments increased by 18%, while cold-rolled sheet shipments increased 17% and hot-dipped galvanized shipments increased 16%.
Year-to-date shipments stand at 22.11m st, down 8.3% from the equivalent period in 2020.
