Mill shipments up 40% on-year in April
US steel mill shipments rose nearly 40% during April in an on-year comparison, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
According to data released by the AISI, US steel mills shipped 7.85 million short tons during the month of April. This is 39.5% above US steel mill shipments in April 2020 totaling 5.62m st. However, shipments during the month were down by 1.3% from 7.95m st shipped in March.
