MMK Metalurji EAF halts for maintenance
Turkey’s MMK Metalurji – a subsidiary of Russia’s Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel works – halted its electric arc furnace for planned maintenance on 13 October.
The furnace will be restarted after the maintenance in around two weeks' time, a company representative tells Kallanish.
The EAF was restarted in July 2021 after 11 years of idleness, with plans to step up to the namplate capacity of around 2 million tonnes/year in 2022. Outp…
