MMK raises first-quarter sales, foresees second-quarter price hikes
Russia’s MMK says the beginning of the construction season in Russia and positive global price dynamic will boost its sales prices in the second quarter.
The firm increased steel production in Q1 due to favourable market conditions. Crude steelmaking was more by 9.2% on-year to 3.3 million tonnes due to no overhauls in converter production and the completion of the upgrade of Mill 2500, Kallanish notes.
