Moody’s foresees slow Indian consumption growth

Moody’s expects Indian steel consumption to grow 2-2.5% on-year in 2020, in line with its Indian GDP growth forecast of 2.5%. This growth will take place despite the three-week nationwide lockdown in India from 25 March designed to combat the spread of the coronavirus, which will nevertheless hurt steel sales in March and April.
