More Chinese mills lift January flat steel prices
More steel companies in China have increased their January 2018 ex-works flat steel offers by CNY 80-150/t ($12-23/t) taking their lead from Baowu and Anshan Iron & Steel (see Kallanish 14 December). Chinese steel demand has been firm over the winter. The current tightly-balanced domestic market is generally supportive of mild price increases, Kallanish notes.
