Nippon Steel overhauls Kimitsu coke oven
Japan's Nippon Steel has started the overhaul of the No.3 coke oven at its Kimitsu plant, local media reports.
The coke oven will reach a production capacity of 700,000 tonnes/year after the transformation, and is expected to be put into operation again in fiscal 2026, Kallanish notes. The investment for this overhaul is JPY 39 billion ($289 million).
