NLMK begins testing upgraded slab caster
NLMK has completed assembly of the main process equipment at its casting machine No.9, one of its key Strategy 2022 projects, the company says. Commissioning and start-up are currently in progress at its Lipetsk mill.
The upgraded machine will enable NLMK to produce “heavy” slab with increased chemical purity and structural homogeneity, a one-of-a-kind product mix in Russia, the steelmaker claims.
