Nucor boosts plate prices
US steelmaker Nucor is lifting its plate base prices, Kallanish learns from a company letter.
A36 prices will increase effective immediately to a minimum base price of $1,560/short ton. Quenched and tempered plate products will likewise move to $1,920/st. Nucor has also opened its September plate order books, the company says. No rationale was given for the increases.
