Northwest European plate firms, cautiously
Plate prices in Germany and adjacent markets seem to have touched the bottom, and in some cases are seen rebounding slightly.
“Mills are trying to assert increases, but I would not see that as an indicator for a change of trend,” one sceptical Ruhr-based buyer cautions. He agrees the downtrend has lost its momentum, but notes that stocks are pretty well-filled, and need to be reduced towards year-end. Also, customers downstream would not welcome hikes.…
