NZ Steel orders Danieli Digimelter
New Zealand Steel has ordered a Danieli-patented Digimelter® for green steelmaking at its NZ Steel works in Glenbrook, south of Auckland, Kallanish learns.
The new facility will replace a Klockner Oxygen Blown Maxhutte -KOBM converter that makes use of carbon and oxygen. Meanwhile, the old Danieli ECS Tornado® endless scrap-charging and preheating system will remain operational.
