OKD grows production, registers unexpected profit in 2021
OKD posted 2.47 million tonnes of coal production in 2021, up 104,000t from the year before, Kallanish learns from the Czech miner. Revenue rose almost 50% to CZK 9.24 billion ($391 million) and net profit was CZK 216.8m.
Although operations remained affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the previous year’s experience helped the firm manage this situation better and more efficiently without major impacts on production, says chairman Roman Sikora.
