Osaka-Kohtetsu merger passes review
The proposed takeover of Tokyo Kohtetsu by Osaka Steel, part of Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC), has passed review by Japan’s competition authorities, the Japan Fair Trade Commission announced Thursday. The decision allows the long delayed takeover to proceed, Kallanish notes.
