Outokumpu agrees low-emission stainless supply to Siemens
Outokumpu has agreed to deliver its Circle Green stainless steel to Siemens for use in medium-voltage switchgear production for electric cabinets in wind turbines.
The product is the world’s first towards-zero stainless steel, the Finnish steelmaker says, with emissions of 0.5kg CO2e per kg of stainless steel versus a global 2023 average of 7kg CO2e per kg.
