Outokumpu eyes Kemi mine 2025 carbon neutrality
Outokumpu says its Kemi chrome mine will become carbon neutral by 2025, by replacing fossil fuels with renewable diesel, Kallanish learns from the company.
Starting this month, Outokumpu will receive supplies from Neste, which it says is the world’s leading producer of renewable diesel. Using renewable fuels will cut annual greenhouse gas emissions from the mine by almost 11.3 million kg, Outokumpu notes.
