Port Hedland ore shipments fall back in January
Australia’s Port Hedland saw iron ore exports to China tumble month-on-month in January, Kallanish notes. This meant that global shipments from the port were lower year-on-year.
Cargoes to China from Port Hedland in January were 33,977,683 tonnes versus 41,402,234t in December or -17.9% lower. Average daily shipments to China were 1,306,149t in January versus 1,528,210t in December and 1,347,289t in January 2019.
