US primary metal shipments rise, orders fall
Primary metal shipments from the US rose slightly during February, while orders fell from the prior month, Kallanish learns from data gathered by the US Census Bureau.
According to the bureau's monthly advanced manufacturing report, shipments of primary metals from the US rose by 0.4% during February, while monthly orders fell by 0.9%. At the same time, both shipments and orders of fabricated metal products fell during the month, by 0.1%, respectively.
