Primetals upgrades Baosteel HRC cooling system
China's Baosteel has granted final acceptance certification to Primetals for the installation of a replaced laminar cooling section at its 2,050mm hot strip mill in Shanghai.
The new laminar cooling enables Baosteel to extend its product range up to a thickness of 19mm for line pipe grades with high toughness at low temperatures, and dual-phase and multi-phase steel grades of 2-8mm thickness, Kallanish learns from Primetals.
