Qatar Steel leads UAE rebar price gap widening
Qatar Steel (QS) FZE, the United Arab Emirates-based subsidiary of Qatar Steel, has moved quickly to set its December domestic rebar price at AED 2,302/tonne ($627) delivered. This is payable by LC 90 days. It is an increase by AED 64/t on November, setting a reference for secondary mills.
The price gap between the benchmark mill, Emirates Steel, and QS FZE has thus widened to over AED 200/t, notes Kallanish.
