Raw steel climbs again in US
US raw steel production rose both on-week and on-year in the week ended 21 August, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production stands at 1.877 million short tons at 85% capability utilisation - up 0.4% from the previous week, when utilisation was 84.7%, and up 27.2% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was just 65.9%.
