Raw steel dips slightly in US
US raw steel production fell slightly on week in the week ended 7 August, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.872 million short tons at 84.8% capability utilisation, down 0.2% from the previous week, when utilisation was 85%, but up 26.8% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was just 65.9%.
