Raw steel production climbs in US
US raw steel production ticked up both on-week and on-year in the week ended 24 April, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel stands at 1.781 million short tons at 78.4% capacity utilisation - up 0.6% from last week, when utilisation was 78%, and up 43.6% from the equivalent week in 2020, when utilisation was just 55.4%.
